Grizzlys, Rhinos, & other Wildlife.

Well, it looks like its getting to be the time of year to get out the ATVs and start planning some fun riding again. We love getting out in the mountains and riding. Whether it is a big trip like going down to Marysvale riding the Paiute trail with a whole bunch of us. (Seeing wildlife like rocky mountain sheep, deer and moose really makes the trip worthwhile.)

Or, just the 4 of us (Leslie, Zachary, Makayla and myself.) riding up Millville or Providence Canyons, with Leslie and myself in the Rhino and Zachary and Makayla on the Grizzly, we have a blast. Zachary is quite the responsible rider for his age. He doesn't seem to have the urge to show off that a lot of kids his age seem to do.

We have had a lot of fun riding up left hand fork, heading up to Old Ephraims grave. Going up Cowley Canyon and on over to Whites Bed grounds, on up to Providence Lake and over to Providence Cave. The view from the cliffs by Providence Cave is spectacular. The same with the view at the top of Millville Canyon. Millville Canyon and Providence Canyon are both nice because we can just hop on the ATVs and head out from the house. Although neither should be taken lightly by the inexperienced rider. These are both very rugged and treacherous canyons.

Makayla just got her first "real" 4 wheeler. It is a little pink (her favorite color) camo 125cc. It looks just like a Grizzly only miniaturized. She calls it her Grizzly Cub. She is becoming a lot more adept at riding it but she still has to get her atv certification.

Maybe we'll see you out in the mountains some time. Happy trails !!!

Ponds, Fountains, and Fire Hydrants.

Hi,

Well, spring is finally here and summer is coming up fast.

So I decided that I needed to add to the landscaping around the house.

The last couple of years I put in some ponds and fountains around the front of the house. I added rocks, shrubs,

ground cover etc. and got it looking pretty good. However, the front corner was never finished. I originally had the idea of putting in paver block and getting a little wrought iron "bistro" table and chair set and putting out there

but it never seemed to work out.

The city came and replaced the old fire hydrant on the corner with a new one. Well the old light came on and

I got the idea to incorporate that old fire hydrant into the landscaping. Having previously acquired some rustic

retaining wall block and an old bathtub (well, it wasn't that old, but that is a story unto itself) and other stuff.

I painted the tub and buried it in the ground added some nice rocks, shrubs, flowers, fire hydrant, pump & hose,

gravel and ended up with a nice addition to my landscaping. Of course it never ends we still have to plant our flowers along the south side of the pool and east of the shed we have some work to do in that flower

garden yet, but I'm hoping to get it finished sometime while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.
